Capture Land - Short Movie

Jamaican films can be quite interesting as the angle with which a Jamaican story can be told is almost endless. We show the wider world different aspects of  Jamaica ,aspects that are not sun ,sea and sand.We can paint aspects that debunk the myth that Jamaica is just a great beach or worse that only violence is known here.Watch an interesting picture,an engaging tale,a journey of 'reason' in "Captureland".

"Captureland" is a short film by Nabil Elderkin inspired by the words of the late Nelson Mandela, and the song "Capture Land" by Reggae artiste,Chronixx. The short film was shot in early November of this year,in the historically rich Port Royal,Jamaica.

Capture Land was created as part of The Power of Words series in partnership with the Tribeca Film Institute and the Nelson Mandela Foundation. This has helped to spark the interest of filmmakers to explore the possibilities of using the written legacy of influential figures [such as Nelson Mandela] as a stepping stone for their work and edifying their audiences.

In its inaugural year ,the series will look at the teachings and writings of Nelson Mandela as a muse for more stories.

This short film may be accredited to Tribeca Film Institute ,Nelson Mandela Foundation, and Out of Africa.
